The marathon is named after the legendary Finnish long distance runner Paavo Nurmi, aka the Flying Finn, and takes place in his hometown, the beautiful city of Turku.

Pretzel City 5K

This is a great event whether you are a novice runner looking to run your first 5k, or a seasoned competitor looking to beat your personal best time. Runners and walkers of all abilities are welcome to participate. The course consists of flat roadways and paths that wind through picturesque Krape Park. The race is also part of the Rockford Road Runners circuit. All pre-registered participants will receive an event T-shirt.

Starting in the parking lot near mini golf and the baseball field, along Yellow Creek, past the Krape Park waterfall, and twin caves, over two scenic bridges then out the tree lined south entrance of the park and return. Time splits and water stations on course; refreshments and awards after the race. The course is certified by USA Track and Field (code IL-12088-JW) and recognized by RRCA. Chip timing will be provided by Real Time Inc.

By joining the 2018 Harrisburg Pasta Run, you are helping to make a positive impact in the lives of those affected by lung disease. Participants raise funds to support the mission of the American Lung Association while taking part in the 2018 Harrisburg Pasta Run in Harrisburg, PA.

Once you register, you'll have access to your 2018 Harrisburg Pasta Run Participant Center. You’ll have the ability to customize your personal web page and share your reason for running, and send emails to ask others to join you or donate. We are here to help you every step of the way!

This year we will be using disposable chip timing with a gun start. Immediately following the race, runners will receive an email with their time or can conveniently visit a kiosk at the race site.

Think you’ve got the fastest 5k around? Put your money where your mouth is and come race on the Performance Test Track at the World Famous GM Milford Proving Ground! We will be running on the beautiful and technical Milford Road Course (we don’t think anyone will be breaking the course record as cars fly on this course at speeds well over 100 MPH! Prove that you are as fast as you say you are with our one-of-a-kind age and gender graded running race on this historic automobile test track. Boys On The Right Track Spring 5 K

Boys on the Right Track is a (9) nine week program resulting in increased life and leadership skills appropriate for boys aged 8-13 and of varying physical abilities. Specifically, boys will learn through fun games and activities and of course, running. This is a non-competitive running program and it is meant to instill leadership and other healthy behaviors.

This program is led by Juliet L. Meade, who is a trained educator and athletic coach.  Learning from our community there was a great need for a running program for boys, she began to develop a curriculum targeted towards the specific needs of developing boys and their families.  Using her educational background and professional experience, Mrs. Meade mixes physical exercise with team building activities and personal leadership development.  She is also a mother of one daughter, and two active boys.  

This website will continue to share information about existing groups and a schedule of available groups for the upcoming seasons. Please check-in with us and watch us grow!
